Great Sword

This great beast of a sword is unbelievably nimble, dexterous, and maneuverable, given its size. This is thanks to its balance point, a mere 3 inches from the guard. Weighing in at 5 lbs, at 56 1/4" long, our Great Sword falls within the parameters of several examples from the continent from the 15th and mid-16th century. The straight double edged blade features a flattened ricasso, allowing the swordsman to choke up on the blade allowing for greater control in close quarters combat. Parrying hooks at the end of the ricasso keep the fighter's hand from slipping onto the blade and catch enemy weapons. Due to the sheer size of the Great Sword, it comes disassembled, to reduce cost of shipping. Simply slide the guard over the tang, followed by the wider, fatter end of the grip, and then screw the pommel onto the tang for easier assembly.
