Second Crusade Templar Sword

The Order of the Temple, more commonly known as the Knight's Templar, was a religious military order founded in the wake of the First Crusade. Originally intended to ensure the safety of pilgrims to the Holy Land, the mighty Order took on a much larger role in European history as time went on. This sword is representative of the type in use at the time of the founding of the order, and of the Second Crusade. The red cross on a white field, forever a distinctive emblem of this indelible Order.
